This Privacy Policy explains how Moaza Alkhadar Advocates and Legal Consultancy, trading as The Firm Dubai ("the Firm", "we", "us"), collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit thefirmdubai.com (the "Website") or contact us through it.
We are a law firm licensed in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our registered office is Office 3401, Block D, Aspect Towers, Al Mustaqbal Street, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We act as the controller of the personal data described in this Policy.
We process personal data in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL") and its implementing regulations, and, where they apply to visitors from other jurisdictions, other applicable data protection laws.
1. Personal data we collect
Information you give us. When you use the consultation or contact forms, subscribe to our updates, email us or call us, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, the practice area your matter concerns, your preferred way of being contacted, and the content of your message. Please do not include sensitive personal data (for example health, religious or criminal information) in a website form unless it is necessary for your enquiry.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the Website, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the time of your visit and the page that referred you. Information from third parties. If you contact us through a third-party platform such as WhatsApp or LinkedIn, we receive the information you share on that platform, subject to its own privacy terms.
2. Why we use your personal data
We use personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:
- To respond to your enquiry and to assess whether we can act for you. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an engagement.
- To provide legal services once you become a client. This is necessary for the performance of our engagement with you and to comply with the professional rules that govern lawyers in the UAE.
- To send you legal updates where you have subscribed. This is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email or by contacting us.
- To operate, secure and improve the Website, including understanding which pages are most useful. This is based on our legitimate interests in running an effective and secure website, and, for analytics cookies, on your consent.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including anti-money-laundering checks, record-keeping and responding to lawful requests from courts and authorities.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you.
3. Who we share personal data with
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- Lawyers and staff of the Firm who need it to handle your enquiry or matter.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Vercel (website hosting), Sanity (content management), Resend (transactional email, processed in the European Union), Mapbox (the map on our contact pages), Google (analytics, where enabled, and the display of our Google Business reviews) and Microsoft 365 (our email and document systems).
- Courts, regulators and authorities where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect our rights or yours.
- Professional advisers, correspondent law firms and experts engaged on your matter, with your knowledge.
4. International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside the United Arab Emirates, including in the European Union and the United States. Where personal data leaves the UAE we rely on the safeguards permitted by the PDPL, including contractual protections with the recipient and, where applicable, transfers to jurisdictions recognised as providing adequate protection.
5. How long we keep personal data
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to respond to you and, if you do not become a client, for up to twenty-four months so that we can identify conflicts of interest and respond to follow-up questions. Client files are kept for the period required by UAE law and our professional obligations, and then securely destroyed. Website log data is kept for a short period for security purposes. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
6. Security
We protect personal data using appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure, reputable service providers. Communications over the internet are never entirely secure, so please contact us by telephone if your matter is particularly sensitive.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPL you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or any other competent data protection authority.
8. Children
The Website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 through it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Links to other websites
The Website contains links to third-party websites, including Google Maps, WhatsApp and social networks. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before providing personal data to them.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Website.
