A letter from the Managing Partner
Nobody calls a law firm on a good day. What you need from us is clear judgment, an honest answer, and a lawyer who stays with you to the end.
Most people who contact us are facing something that matters: a contract that has gone wrong, a dispute with a partner, a property, a business or a family at stake. At that moment you are not buying legal services. You are choosing who to trust with a decision you cannot afford to get wrong. I want to tell you plainly how we earn that trust.
First, you get a lawyer, not a department. The lawyer who takes your first call is the one who runs your matter, appears for you and answers to you. Moaza Alkhadar and I built this firm on that rule, and it has not changed as we have grown.
Second, you get the truth early. In our first conversations we tell you where you stand, what a good outcome looks like, what it will cost and how long it will take. If a settlement serves you better than a trial, we will say so. If your case should be fought, we will fight it, before the Dubai Courts, the Federal Courts, the DIFC and ADGM courts or an arbitral tribunal, in Arabic, English or French, as your matter requires.

Acted for a leading UAE bank in litigation over AED 3 billion of contractual obligations arising from a construction programme. The matter turned on how the facility documents and the underlying construction contracts fit together.
AED 2 billion
Mega-project dispute in Dubai Studio City
Acted for a client in a contractual dispute over a AED 2 billion development in Dubai Studio City, opposite a major Dubai mortgage lender. The matter was resolved through negotiation, which protected the client's position and kept the project going.
USD 1.5 billion
Government financing agreement between the Republic of Congo and the UAE
Facilitated a USD 1.5 billion financing arrangement between the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) and the UAE government, working through the financial and regulatory questions on both sides until the agreement was signed.
AED 123 million
Cross-border acquisition dispute between Kuwait and the United States
Advised in a AED 123 million dispute arising from a cross-border acquisition with parties in Kuwait and the United States, handling the conflict-of-laws and enforcement questions the two jurisdictions raised.

Arbitral award overturned before the Dubai courts
Acted in the proceedings that led to a AED 70 million arbitral award being overturned before the Dubai courts, led by the head of our litigation team.

Negotiated and drafted the agreements for the development of seven gold mines and one coal mine in Madagascar, covering the contractual structure and compliance with local and international rules.
South Sudan to Kenya
Infrastructure corridor to Lamu Port for a global port operator
Advised a global port operator on a strategic infrastructure project linking South Sudan with Kenya's Lamu Port, including the negotiation of the project agreements under local and international rules.
