This Cookie Policy explains how thefirmdubai.com (the "Website"), operated by Moaza Alkhadar Advocates and Legal Consultancy, trading as The Firm Dubai, uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let the website remember your choices, keep it secure and understand how it is used. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, do the same job without using a cookie file. In this Policy we use "cookies" to cover all of them.

2. The cookies we use

We keep the Website deliberately light. It uses the following:

Strictly necessary. These are needed for the Website to work and cannot be switched off.

  • NEXT_LOCALE: remembers whether you chose English or Arabic so that you are shown the right language on your next visit. Stored for up to one year.
  • tfd_consent: remembers that you have seen our cookie notice and whether you have switched analytics cookies off. Stored for one year.
  • tfd_ft and tfd_lt: remember how you first arrived at the Website (for example from a search engine or a link in an email) so that, if you later contact us, we know which of our channels was useful. They contain no personal information. Stored for 90 days.
  • Security and load-balancing cookies set by our hosting provider, Vercel, to deliver the Website reliably. These are short-lived and contain no personal information.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how visitors move through the Website, so that we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with _ga that last up to two years and assign a random identifier to your browser. We configure it so that IP addresses are truncated and no advertising features are used. These cookies are set when you first visit the Website, on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how it is used. You can switch them off at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, and your choice is remembered for a year.

Third-party content. The map on our contact pages is provided by Mapbox. When the map loads, Mapbox receives your IP address and may store technical data in your browser to display the map. The map only loads when you scroll to it.

We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.

3. How to manage cookies

You can switch analytics cookies off, or back on, at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting cookies already stored and blocking new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may mean that the language setting is not remembered and that some parts of the Website do not work as intended.

Instructions for the most common browsers are available from their publishers: Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

4. Changes to this Policy

We will update this Policy if the cookies we use change, for example when a new analytics or contact tool is added. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
